Laurel

Women’s Therapist

Laurel has her Bachelor of Social Work, Masters in Counselling and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor.  She has experience with crisis counselling and the co-facilitation of grief and loss groups. She has also earned Level 1 EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Processing) and Level II OEI (Observed Experiential Integration).  

Laurel’s goal is to help empower women as they journey through life.

 

Holly, M.A., A.B.S., R.C.C.

Women’s Therapist

Holly has been practising therapy for over twenty years and still enjoys the many intriguing complexities of the individuals. She is honoured that the last nine have been with Ann Davis Transition Society. 

 

Stephanie

Women’s Therapist, Hope

Stephanie has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Masters in Psychology.  She is familiar with a wide range of therapies, including: existentialist, gestalt, client-centered, narrative art therapy, cognitive-behavioural, body-centered, feminist and family systems. She is also trained Observed Experiential Integration Therapy (OEI) – Level II. “a neurologically based series of trauma integration techniques to reduce and resolve the impact of trauma.”

Stephanie works with individuals with a variety of concerns, including: depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder emotional and relational concerns, and other general life struggles.

She enjoys working with individuals from all backgrounds and considers it an honour to witness the courage and resiliency of those she counsels.

 

Nan 

Women’s Counsellor

Nan has a Social Service Diploma and has done many workshops such as Children living with parents who have Mental Health issues, attachment and parenting issues.  Nan started off as a family support worker at the Transition House and is now a women’s counsellor facilitating different women’s groups such as anger management, co-dependency and pattern changing.

Nan finds it very inspiring working in the group setting as well as the 1:1 counselling.  Nan is fluent in Dutch as she immigrated 14 years ago from the Netherlands.

 

Brian, Ph.D., R.C.C.

Men's/Family/Couples Therapist

Brian’s areas of specialization are: men’s issues, anger management, individual and family and couple therapy. He is a member of the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors and the Canadian Psychology Association.

Brian has 18 years experience as a therapist, including clinical supervision and mental health administration. He has been with Ann Davis Transition Society for five years as a clinical counsellor.

 

Sean, M.A., C.C.C.

Therapist

Deeply committed to enriching the lives of others, Sean acts as a catalyst for positive change by kindling hope and building strength in the individuals he serves. Sean is a memeber of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and is a Canadian Certified Counsellor. 

With a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology, Sean's approach includes a creative integration of the following emirically supported/validated therapies: Process-Experiential/Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Observed & Experiential Integration Therapy.

 

Steve

Youth Counsellor

Steve works with teens and pre-teens. Many of his clients have been victims/witnesses of abuse; others are struggling with such issues as grief/loss, family separation/divorce, social anxiety, and/ or parental alcohol/drug abuse. These issues often result in social, behaviour, depression and anger problems. Steve’s focus is primarily skill-based, helping children to overcome their pasts and build the resiliency necessary to deal with current and future challenges.

  

Terresa, B.S.W., R.S.W.

Youth Counsellor

Terresa graduated from University of the Fraser Valley in 2010 with her Bachelor of Social Work. She has worked with youth, the elderly, people with disabilities and families at risk.

Terresa started working with ADTS as a Crisis Intervention Worker in 2011. She then joined the Youth Extra Support Team and is working full-time, doing one-on-one counselling, small and large group counselling, as well as Caught in the Middle workshops.

 

Shenaz

Children’s Counsellor

After obtaining a Master’s in Education, Shenaz completed a certificate program in Expressive Art Therapy and has been working at Ann Davis Services since 2008. Since 2006, her experiences with intuitive art have helped Shenaz gain a deeper appreciation of the children’s artwork as an important piece in their healing processes.  She combines this approach with supporting their parents with attachment style parenting; both individually and in groups.
